Life is often more difficult than you thought it would be. And the strategies that used to help aren’t working anymore. You aren’t sure why you can’t be close to the people you love. Work doesn’t provide the satisfaction it used to. Or you just haven’t turned out to be the person you wanted to be. You’re treading water but you want to swim.
I believe life can be better because I’ve been there.
Working with a therapist has made an enormous impact on me at various points in my life. It helped me to understand myself better, to feel better about my life and my choices and to relate in more healthy ways to the people I care about. That is why I dedicated my life to learning how to help others work through their issues to find more of the life they desire.
My promise is that I will be all in for you in every session- amplifying your strengths, exploring your blind spots, examining the roots of your concerns, and challenging you to reach for your potential.
The journey is rarely easy, but you don’t have to go it alone. And while life will never be perfect, it can be better.
If you would like to see how I can help, please reach out today. I look forward to hearing from you.
Have you ever felt like things could be better, but you’re not sure how to make it happen? Maybe you want to make healthier choices, but you’re not sure where to start. If this sounds like you, I’m here to help!
I have learned valuable lessons about kindness and helping others from my family, friends, and even from challenging situations throughout my life. When I was in college, I discovered that listening is like an art form, and counseling is a special gift. Through training and practice I found that I had an affinity for understanding and supporting people. It feels incredibly rewarding for me to see clients grow and learn to take care of themselves.
Sometimes, we forget how important our emotions are in living a fulfilling life. We get caught up in family and work responsibilities, and we forget to focus on our own well-being. That’s where therapy comes in—it’s like a safe place to explore our thoughts and feelings. As a therapist, my job is to create a caring and supportive environment where you can talk about your challenges and learn more about yourself.
Everyone’s journey is different, so we’ll work together to create a personalized plan just for you. Therapy is always changing, and we’ll come up with practical steps to help you reach your goals”
If you think you might be willing to try and ready to work towards your growth and mental health, I am here to help you.

Daniel has been working with youth and families for nearly 20 years in many different capacities including youth pastoring, therapeutic foster care and professional counseling. He is father to 3 children all under 6 years of age, who teach and stretch him everyday. His marriage of 10 years has rocked his world in both good and difficult ways. Family life has taught him much more than he learned in school, and he brings that viewpoint to his clients.
Daniel approaches counseling holistically dealing with body, mind, spirit and emotions which all need to be addressed for people to move toward healing. He works with youth and families, helping them understand each other, work through conflict and gain a different perspective. He also enjoys working with married and soon-to-be-married couples. He has experience with children ages 5 and up as well as young and more seasoned adults. His specialties include ADHD, depression, coping/communication skill building, anxiety, depression, executive functioning and career counseling.
Each of us experience unique challenges in our lives. Maybe you feel lonely and disconnected, even in a world that’s never been more “connected.” Maybe it’s hard to make sense of your life experiences or relationship dynamics. Maybe you feel hopeless, stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious. Or perhaps you are searching for hope and ready for change.
My hope is that I can walk alongside you on your journey toward connection, meaning, healing, and wellness. I have experienced this kind of growth in my own life, which has led me to give my life to helping people pursue their own growth and potential. I will believe in who you are becoming. My hope as a counselor is to create a safe space to connect with you with compassion. I also hope to listen to you with curiosity, while encouraging and empowering you along the way.
No matter how much you try, you aren’t meant to navigate life on your own. I know how hard it is to be in the depths of life’s darkest and hardest moments, but I hope to enter into those spaces with you and work together to climb out. I have experience working with children, teens, and adults facing difficulties in relationships, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and more. It would be a privilege to spend time with you and navigate what’s happening in your life together. Please reach out to me if you are interested in learning more.
Grounded in his graduate training through John’s Hopkins and clinical work with Hospice of the Chesapeake, Tim’s orientation is deeply person-centered-believing that the client is their own best healer. He views problems as interwoven parts of the whole person (mind, body, environment, and the interpersonal) and sees counseling as a collaborative process to empower clients through developing awareness and supporting their journey to find healing and effective ways of getting their inherent needs met.
Drawing on extensive professional and international experience and an insatiable appetite for understanding the world we live in, Tim utilizes the lenses of a broad range of theoretical orientations and philosophical approaches to facilitate his work with clients (e.g. neuroscience, biology, philosophy, sociology, anthropology, psychology, cultural awareness and sensitivity, etc.). In addition to individual psychotherapy, small group process, and couples/family counseling, Tim also offers professional workshops and staff training.
Are you feeling stuck — whether it’s due to anxiety, depression, a change in life circumstances, or relationship issues — because you’ve reached the limits of what you can figure out on your own?
I work collaboratively with clients from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and sexual orientations who are motivated to change. If you are seeking more satisfaction from your relationships (improving communication, adjusting to life with a new baby, empty nest, being a more effective parent, considering divorce) or need some calm in the face of your daily chaos we will discover new ways of coping or find a fresh perspective on things you’re already doing.
I have been practicing social work for 25 years with extensive experience working in foster care and adoption. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned my Master’s degree from the Catholic University of America and am recognized by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners as an approved supervisor.
My adoption-centered counseling focuses on my clients’ feelings related to search and reunion, moving from infertility to adoption, or trying to find an authentic place in their family, their community, or within themselves. I know that parenting, grief and loss, and identity formation have special meaning for those in the adoption community. LEARN MORE ABOUT MY ADOPTION WORK HERE.
I base my practice on helping all my clients (birth family, adoptive parents, adopted persons and those outside the adoption triad) address their needs with solution-focused interventions and a warm, yet direct approach.
Some pursue happiness- others create it. It is my honor to partner with you along the journey to seek the strength within to create a better life. My therapeutic style goes all the way back to my birth as the child of two psychologists. They instilled a passion in me to understand and help people. I have spent the last 25 years in the field of Psychology.
My professional journey started by working with the US government and private sector organizations to understand the behavior of bad actors while also creating work environments that were safe, productive, and creative. This led me to obtain my PhD’s in Cognitive Psychology and Leader in Education, so that I could not only understand but teach others to as well. During this time, I traveled around the world and learned meditation techniques from people such as Thich Nhat Hah and Emily Fletcher. After helping large organizations for years, I realized it was the individual that I wanted to work with. I went back to obtain a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Now I work with individuals, couples, families, and teams to help them create their safe, productive, happy life. Every client that walks through the door has unique strengths and values that help them reach their goals and overcome tough times. I look forward to working with you to create your best life.
For Grace, being a counselor is who she is not just what she does professionally. She was drawn to counseling while still in high school when her friendships revealed she was a naturally good listener and gifted with intuition, compassion and the ability to empathize with others. She responded to this by pursuing a B.A. in Psychology at Wheaton College and continuing on to get her M.A. in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary.
She believes in a relational approach to counseling and as such, strives to provide a safe place for people to be heard and find acceptance of where they truly are – not just where they think they should be. It is her belief that this authentic, relational approach is what ultimately effects deep heart change. Her specialties include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, sexual abuse, grief, and a variety of women’s issues. She feels especially passionate about helping women find their voice, treat themselves with compassion, and identify and confront the obstacles that keep them from being who they are truly meant to be.
Life often feels like swimming in the open ocean—sometimes it’s a source of pure joy, and other times, it’s a struggle against changing currents and crashing waves. When we are inundated we can start feeling conflicted, confused, fearful, and overwhelmed. We will likely question ourselves and our progress, certain we’re falling further behind and afraid that we should just be “over it” by now.
With over 30 years of experience supporting individuals, organizations, and communities, I draw inspiration from my own journey in the water. As an accomplished open-water marathon swimmer, a former executive, a husband and father of four, I’ve faced many treacherous situations both in and out of the water. These experiences have given me unique insights into navigating life’s waters.
Therapy with me isn’t just about addressing problems—it’s about creating a safe harbor amidst life’s storms. Whether you’re seeking personal development, improved relationships, or support with clinical disorders, therapy offers a space to find clarity and direction.
Let’s embark on this journey together. I’ll use my diverse experiences to help you chart the best course for your life, reading the waves and guiding you towards your goals. Together, we’ll navigate the complexities of life and discover how to feel better and live more fully.
We often hear that “life is short,” but the truth is, our journey here can feel like the longest thing we ever do. It’s never too late to tap into the full potential of being alive! As we go through life, we adapt to changes around us, and sometimes that can lead to feelings of disconnect between where we are now and where we want to be—emotionally, physically, or spiritually. Therapy can be a great space to explore those feelings and get curious about what’s going on inside you, helping you create a life that truly reflects who you are.
I’ve always been fascinated by the human experience. There’s so much we share in common, yet each of us has our own unique perspective to offer. I feel grateful to have learned from people across different cultures; their stories and experiences have shaped how I view the world and how I work with others.
I believe you are the expert on your own life. With some support, you can begin to recognize patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This understanding allows us to develop practices that enhance your fulfillment, tailored to what matters most to you. Additionally, my background in yogic practices has inspired me to incorporate mindfulness and somatic techniques into my work, helping clients deepen their journey of self-discovery.
Life can be challenging, and it’s totally okay to feel unsure about what to do next or how to handle everything. I aim to create a space where you can safely explore those challenges and set flexible goals for a more fulfilling life. I’m committed to making sure everyone feels seen, heard, and supported on their journey of self-discovery, growth, and healing. There’s so much potential in each of us! Part of the journey is moving from just surviving to really thriving. If you’re curious about breaking free from what’s holding you back and exploring what’s possible, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this therapeutic process.
